Getting
Started
How do we get started?
Everything starts off with a phone call between one of our care coordinators and the client or their designated proxy, usually a family member or friend. This call helps us get some basic information about your loved one, their needs and to convey to you our recommendations.
After that we recommend a no obligations assessment meeting between you and your loved one and our care coordinator to gather and discuss more details which can’t be gleaned over the phone.
This meeting may also include introducing a potential caregiver for the client and family to meet and converse with. After this meeting we can start services upon acceptance of our service offerings.
Can we choose our caregiver?
Absolutely. We will carefully select a caregiver based on your loved one’s requirements and personality and then introduce them during our free assessment or in a follow up meeting. The client makes the final decision on the choice of caregiver.

Caregivers
Who hires and manages the caregivers?
Caregivers are not directly hired by clients. We handle all the employment related matters, screening and management of caregivers and nurses.
Who pays the caregiver?
Since our company handles all employment related matters for caregivers, we pay them directly and take care of all related taxes and insurance.
What kind of screening do you do on caregivers?
All of our caregivers are put through a very rigorous and detailed screening procedure. It includes in-person interviews, validating caregiver training and experience, reference checks, DMV check and criminal background check.
Payment
Who pays the caregiver?
Since our company handles all employment related matters for caregivers, we pay them directly and take care of all related taxes and insurance.
What forms of payment do you take?
Our agency is both a private pay home care company and an approved provider for all long term insurance plans . We accept any form of private payment, including checks, credit cards as well as proceeds from long term care insurance policies that may cover our services.

Do you take Medicare or Medicaid?
No, we are not set up to be a provider of services paid for by government assistance programs.

No. Preferred Life Care Home Health is a locally established. owned and operated business.
What happens in case of an emergency or urgent issue?
We have a care supervisor and nurse clinician on call to handle all matters, including urgent matters and emergencies. We are always available with our 24/7, 365 days a year on call service.
